La Preuve Par l'Image 2020

Overview

In 2019, the CNRS launched a partnership with Acfas by extending the photo competition La preuve par l'image, which was initiated in 2010 in Quebec, to France. For this second edition, the CNRS research community has been invited to submit their best research image. The challenge of this competition is to use images, which challenge and question, rather than words to show research. The image, beyond its beauty, is also a research and investigation device that allows scientists to decipher their results and engage in a dialogue with the general public. Titles, captions and technical descriptions complete this approach and immerse us in the fascinating world of scientific research. This exhibition brings together the images of the twenty winners selected from nearly 200 entries by a jury of image and science professionals.

CNRS Images,

Our work is guided by the way scientists question the world around them and we translate their research into images to help people to understand the world better and to awaken their curiosity and wonderment.
