The French National Center for Scientific Research is a multidisciplinary research organization whose mission is organized around six main axes - To support fundamental research in all fields at the highest world level. To promote multidisciplinarity and more specifically to work on the major problems of today's society. To work with industrial and economic actors on developing breakthrough innovations. To play a driving role in French research's international presence particularly in major European infrastructures and programmes. To recreate and consolidate partnerships with autonomous universities. To provide access to scientific culture and expertise for decision-makers and society as a whole.

The CNRS's policy is also to strive to guarantee a better understanding of the world, contribute to major societal challenges and drive innovation.

CNRS Images,

Our work is guided by the way scientists question the world around them and we translate their research into images to help people to understand the world better and to awaken their curiosity and wonderment.
