View the mediaThe collection managed by CNRS Images is also enriched by your images (photos, films, video sequences).
Once deposited with CNRS Images, your images will be managed in a database accessible on the Internet, enriched with metadata, saved and archived, giving them greater visibility. They will also be distributed internally and externally. For more information on the possible uses of your images, see the ‘How will my images be used by CNRS Images?' section.
We reserve the right to select images from among those submitted. We take into account technical aspects (file quality and size), aesthetic aspects (visual quality, legibility, diversity of framing) and legal aspects (personal image rights, non-exclusivity, etc.).
You can use any type of file deposit service (filesender, mycore, wetransfer, etc.).
Provide the director's approval by e-mail. The images will be attached to the unit's gallery (e.g. https://images.cnrs.fr/laboratoire/umr5553) if one exists.
If your images depict recognisable people, we will provide you with an image rights transfer form for them to sign.
You may also choose to place your images under a Creative Commons licence (please specify which licence you have chosen).
Information on the subject of the images and the context of the research concerned must be given in French.
Once the deposit has been accepted, we may ask you for more information about the images selected.
Images can be viewed by anyone on this site, with an accompanying notice (detailed caption, name of laboratory, author). For your part, you can continue to use them; it changes nothing for you.
Our users can order them from the site, but we moderate the uses. We authorise the reproduction and distribution of photographs in the following cases:
Examples of use:
In all cases, users must mention the source of the images (© author / laboratory / CNRS Images). Given the large volume of image requests we receive, we cannot systematically inform you of each use. However, in the event of use for major events (institutional exhibition, multi-media communication for an emblematic event, etc.), we will inform you.

Our work is guided by the way scientists question the world around them and we translate their research into images to help people to understand the world better and to awaken their curiosity and wonderment.
