Hypnosis or the imagination at the helm

In this twelfth chapter of the DVD "Recoveries", which features 18 short films on illness, care and the caregiver-patient relationship, Claudine Gagneret, general practitioner, and Yann Cojan, neuroscientist, approach the subject of hypnosis as associated with medical therapies from a practical and theoretical point of view.
For about a century, hypnosis has been used in pain control, treatment of certain pathologies such as asthma and withdrawal support.
Claudine Gagneret elaborates on the use of hypnosis in her professional practice which helps patients to mobilize their resources and knowledge of their body, even when unconscious.
Yann Cojan shares his work from his laboratory. Using functional magnetic resonance imaging, he observed that for subjects under hypnosis, the area of control of the performance of a task always remained active, while involving the regions of imagination and self-representation.
