Summary

In this ninth chapter of the DVD "Recoveries" featuring 18 short films on illness, care and the caregiver-patient relationship, Alain Epelboin, physician and anthropologist, explains how collaboration between medicine and anthropology is essential.
During the 2003 Ebola epidemic in the Congo, WHO and the Red Cross called on him, in the face of the population's hostility and lack of understanding of their emergency response. He was to adapt the care to be provided and set up exchanges with the affected people.
Testimonies from villagers and Pierre Formenty, epidemiologist, whom he filmed during the epidemic complement his comments on the role he had in the resolution of this crisis.
