In Barhain, ancient former Dilmun, fishing has always played a fundamental role, as attest the several fish bones excavated on the archaeological site of Qala'at al Bahreïn. The observation of traditional fishing techniques with the help of “haddrah” or “gargour”, still used nowadays, represents a complementary source of information.
