A new type of house has just been built in the Nantes neighbourhood of La Bottière. This is the first house in the world designed and built using 3D printing. This so-called Yhnova project is the result of the collaboration of researchers in robotics and civil engineering at the CNRS and the University of Nantes. Once a digital model of the house has been created, the robots can take over the construction of the walls of the building running on a BATIPRINT 3D technology developed by Nantes researchers. This major step forward would revolutionize architecture, by building structures at a lower cost and faster while improving working conditions.
