Why two types of planet?
The Solar System has two types of planet, the smallest are near the Sun, while the largest are far away. But since 1995, there's been a hitch in this simple and harmonious picture. That year, the first planet orbiting a star other than the Sun was discovered. It is a huge planet so close to its star that its temperature reaches 1000°C. And it's not the only one...
