Aquatic macrocosms from the CEREEP-Ecotron artificial lake platform. This platform comprises sixteen artificial "lakes" in the form of large rectangular basins each of which is 30 m long, 15 m wide and 3 m deep; each lake contains around 700 m3 of water. Each lake is equipped with an automatic system to measure the physical-chemical parameters of the water column. The variables measured include oxygen, temperature, pH and total type a chlorophyll. The site is equipped with a weather station…

Ecolab installed at the Cereep (experimental and predictive ecology research centre) - Ecotron Ile-de-France, on the Foljuif site of in Seine-et-Marne. This is a mobile climate and atmospheric environment simulator designed to contain small model ecosystems that enable experiments to be replicated over time or between cells. Ecolab comprises three climate chambers and a laboratory, housed in two modules. One module, known as the production module, ensures the cold and warm fluid resources for…

Common lizard in one of the Cereep terrestrial mesocosms - Ecotron Ile-de-France, at Foljuif, Seine-et-Marne. These enclosures are used to study the impact of different parameters such as density, male/female ratio or habitat quality on small animal populations such as the common lizard. Cereep was set up to promote important experimental research and observational programmes focused on the relations between biodiversity and the operation of ecosystems in terrestrial and aquatic environments.

Measurement of the size of the corolla of a flower at CEREEP-Ecotron Ile-de-France, at Foljuif in Seine-et-Marne. The size of the corolla is often related to the quantity of nectar produced by the flower and thus to its attractiveness for pollinators. The purpose is to study how the composition of vegetal communities impacts the operation of the pollination ecosystem service.

CEREEP-Ecotron aquatic mesocosm platform. This platform is dedicated to the experimental study of aquatic ecosystems, and comprises a series of closely inter-related experimental basins used in particular to investigate stagnant fresh water ecosystems. The platform allows the functionality and scalability of the dimensions of aquatic ecosystems to be studied as well as constraints related to physical diversity (turbulence and sediment) and temperature increases. The platform includes two types…
