Aquatic macrocosms from the CEREEP-Ecotron artificial lake platform

Aquatic macrocosms from the CEREEP-Ecotron artificial lake platform. This platform comprises sixteen artificial "lakes" in the form of large rectangular basins each of which is 30 m long, 15 m wide and 3 m deep; each lake contains around 700 m3 of water. Each lake is equipped with an automatic system to measure the physical-chemical parameters of the water column. The variables measured include oxygen, temperature, pH and total type a chlorophyll. The site is equipped with a weather station. Thanks to their large volumes and the structural boundaries that delimit their contrasting environments (pelagic, benthic and coastal areas), these artificial lakes constitute innovative experimental models for studying the ecosystems of lakes and the long term dynamics of the organisms they contain.
