Au bout de 50 ans, les coulées de lave sont de plus en plus colonisées par les espèces ligneuses comme "Antirhea borbonica" au centre, mais aussi, en basse altitude par les espèces envahissantes (exemple : les arbres de "Casuarina" en arrière plan). Piton de la Fournaise, île de la Réunion.
