Contact With the Nanoworld
The researchers from the IEMN (Institute for Electronics, Microelectronics and Nanotechnology), located in Lille, work on the nanomaterials: nanowires, nanocrystals and nanotubes. Their objective is to control the production of matter at the atom scale.
They ' ve just developed a new instrument: the NANOPROBE, which allows the researchers to observe atoms and also to manipulate them.
Bruno Grandidier, a physicist, explains its functioning, the possibilities and the applications given by this new tool, in particular in the domain of the energy and the lightning industry.
