Échantillons plastiques avant cryobroyage
Échantillons de plastiques qui sont ensuite broyés et réduits en poudre, via cryobroyage sous azote liquide à -196 °C, pour être artificiellement injectés dans des sédiments. Les scientifiques étudient la dégradation de ces microplastiques dans les sédiments, récoltés sur l'étang de Berre. La pollution due aux microplastiques peut être à l'origine de graves problèmes sanitaires (perturbateurs endocriniens, risques de cancers…).
