Vue de la couche limite atmosphérique depuis l'observatoire de Physique Atmosphérique de la Réunion (OPAR) du Maïdo, situé à 2200 mètres d'altitude à la Réunion. L'OPAR passe au dessus de cette limite durant la nuit. Il se situe alors en troposphère libre, ce qui entraine une forte variation jour / nuit des concentrations en mercure atmosphérique.
