Un wafer de 4’’ est introduit dans la chambre à ultravide (pression de travail de 10-9 mbar) et déplacé en 3 dimensions (x, y et z). Un échantillon est simplement posé sur ce support (pour, entre autres, éviter les contaminations pendant le dopage dues à la graisse à vide, résines collantes, etc.). Cette étude est réalisée dans le cadre du dopage laser (GILD : Gaz immersion laser doping).
