Mathematician Claire Voisin, the winner of the 2016 CNRS gold medal

Mathematician Claire Voisin, the winner of the 2016 CNRS gold medal, is a specialist in algebraic geometry. After thirty years as a research scientist at the CNRS, on 2 June 2016 she was appointed a full professor and holder of the new Chair of Algebraic Geometry at the Collège de France. During her career she has received a large number of awards, including the CNRS silver medal in 2006 and the Clay Mathematics Institute Prize in 2008. Her research work is especially focused on the topology of projective Kähler manifolds and Hodge theory.
