Aux limites extrêmes de son avancée, la ville de São Paulo au Brésil progresse sur des zones encore partiellement boisées. Des routes de terre annoncent de futurs lotissements, plus organisés que les quartiers d' "autoconstruction" visibles sur la gauche de l'image, sans rues rectilignes. Au premier plan, une des principales routes d'accès à la ville. Etude de la pression urbaine sur les franges agricoles périurbaines, comparaisons internationales.
