Etude des Toradja. Vue sur Rantepao depuis la région de Sesean au Nord. Ce bourg commercial fut créé par les autorités coloniales hollandaises qui arrivèrent en 1906. Les missionnaires protestants s'y installèrent en 1913 et ouvrirent les premières écoles. Aujourd'hui, la majeure partie de la population est christianisée.
