Cet oiseau, le picatharte chauve, "Picarthartes orea" (Muscicapidé, Picathartiné), troglophile, nidifie sous les proches d'entrée des grottes, entre 1 m 20 et 5 m de haut, au coeur de la forêt gabonaise. Il se nourrit d'invertébrés variés et de blattes trouvés dans le guano des chauves-souris à l'intérieur des grottes. La reproduction a lieu de novembre à avril. La ponte est de 1 ou 2 ¿ufs.
