Modelling heritage sites in 3D

To mark the bicentenary of Eugène Viollet-le-Duc's birth, the MAP laboratory (Models and simulations for architecture and heritage) and its teams worked on 3D models of elements from the City of Carcassonne and Pierrefonds Castle. In order to carry out these models, they used drones and numerical tools developed by the laboratory.
Part of this work will be presented in an exhibition entitled "Viollet-le-Duc[Trait pour trait/Viollet-le-Duc, line for line]" at the Cité de Carcassonne from June 13 to September 21, 2014.

CNRS Images,

Our work is guided by the way scientists question the world around them and we translate their research into images to help people to understand the world better and to awaken their curiosity and wonderment.
