Summary

The film is a presentation by Xavier Piolle, geographer, of the activities of the SET (Society, environment, territory), a laboratory where the complex relationships that humans establish with their environment and territory are studied.
Francis Jaureguiberry, sociologist, works on the notion of localisation in space through the use of mobile phones. He thus studies the impossibility for individuals to get lost and the notion of connection/disconnection between individuals according to the site where they are.
Finally, Xavier Arnaud de Sartre, a geographer, studies the political applications of sustainable development and the resulting territorial upheavals in a small region of Amazonia.

CNRS Images,

Our work is guided by the way scientists question the world around them and we translate their research into images to help people to understand the world better and to awaken their curiosity and wonderment.
