Interview with Simha Arom
Simha Arom is the manager of the ethnographical department of the CNRS. He has been particularly interested in complex polyphonic music from the Central African Republic.
With André Marie Despringues and Vincent Dehoux, he explains how he managed to break down the pigmy polyphonies, by using a method of sound recording which he invented and developed and that calls for replaying. He uses it together with photographs and films.
