Sociologist Daniel Friedmann researches the disappearing, forgotten, or reinterpreted meanings of Arfe Asert, a religious festival of the Beta Israel or Ethiopian Jews which is observed less and less frequently, by interviewing the Ques (Ethiopian priests) and anthropologist Shoshana Ben Dor.
The topics addressed deal with varying interpretations of the festival and its origins, its liturgy, its development and change of context (in Ethiopia and in Israel), and its new and forgotten meanings.

Our work is guided by the way scientists question the world around them and we translate their research into images to help people to understand the world better and to awaken their curiosity and wonderment.
