Photo report
Isabelle Cantat is the laureate of the CNRS silver medal 2023
Isabelle Cantat's work focuses on small-scale free-surface hydrodynamic flows in the presence of surfactants (in other words, drops, bubbles, soap films) and, on a larger scale, liquid foams.
Whether in cosmetics, food processing, industry or construction, foams are everywhere. That's why the aim of these studies is to understand the fine mechanisms behind their stability, by seeking to predict their lifespan or the way they flow, in order to improve their properties.

CNRS Images,
Our work is guided by the way scientists question the world around them and we translate their research into images to help people to understand the world better and to awaken their curiosity and wonderment.
