Billes de dioxyde de titane (TiO2) observées au microscope électronique à balayage (MEB) avec un grossissement x 2 000. La photo est retraitée et colorisée avec des couleurs artificielles. Le dioxyde de titane permet d’accélérer la vitesse d'une réaction chimique en présence de lumière, c'est le principe de la photocatalyse.
