Section (coupe) polie d'une concrétion calcaire à structure laminée (stromatolithe). Elle provient de la formation de tufs calcaires interglaciaires de Caours dans la Somme, en association avec le site Paléolithique moyen. La datation par la méthode uranium-thorium donne environ 123 000 ans (123 ka ± 3). L'objectif de ces recherches est de reconstituer les paléoclimats et les paléoenvironnements continentaux contemporains des occupations humaines du Paléolithique moyen récent (Néandertal) dans le nord de la France.
