Section d'un bloc de carbonate hydrothermal dragué sur le site hydrothermal fossile de la ride médio-atlantique "Ghost City" (36°N) à 2 100 m de profondeur. Cet échantillon a été collecté sur le massif Rainbow, lors de la campagne MoMARDREAM. Ce bloc, formé de carbonates authigènes et qui piège une coquille de moule hydrothermale chimiosynthétique "Bathymodiolus" aff. "azoricus", présente une texture en chenaux typique des carbonates hydrothermaux de sites ultramafiques tels que "Lost City".
