Monocristal de cuprate Bi2Sr2CaCu2O8 (bismuth, strontium, calcium, cuivre, oxygène), un matériau supraconducteur (sur plaque de cuivre). Ce monocristal a fait l'objet d'une croissance par une méthode de zone fondue. Il est observé au microscope optique à lumière polarisée. Ses dimensions sont de 2150 µm x 670 µm et son épaisseur de 30 µm.
