Chercheur photographiant des fourmis "Azteca" exploitant les exsudats sucrés d'un arbre, le "Cecropia" ou "bois canon", station des Nouragues, Guyane. Cette espèce de fourmi vit fréquemment en symbiose avec le Cecropia qui possède de petites cavités, dans lesquelles elles s'installent, et qui leur fournit aussi de la nourriture. En échange les fourmis protègent l'arbre contre toute agression, en particulier des fourmis "Atta" défoliatrices.
