Sur la plage de Nabiyounis, Jyeh, Liban, l'équipe de nettoyeurs collecte les hydrocarbures. Le sable pollué est érigé en talus dans la zone de déferlement. Cette zone d'agitation libère les hydrocarbures qui sont récupérés sur des filets ou du matériel absorbant. Cette technique de nettoyage est appelée "surf washing".
