Deux jeunes mâles d'éléphant de mer s'affrontent devant une colonie de manchots royaux à Ratmanoff, Kerguelen, au sud de l'océan Indien. Ces mammifères se déplacent sur de grandes distances et permettent d'échantillonner en continu l'océan au cours de leurs plongées profondes.
