Le Kongsbreen (glacier du Roi), en Norvège, présente un front marin d'une quarantaine de mètres de hauteur et vêle dans les eaux bleues du fjord. Il est en retrait depuis la fin du Petit Âge glaciaire. Il s'appuie sur la montagne du Colletthøgda composée de marbre, à gauche du cliché. La couleur marron correspond aux sédiments gréseux transportés par le glacier.
