Les geysers de Tatio, dans le désert d'Atacama, sont situés à plus de 4 000 mètres au-dessus du niveau de la mer, et les températures sont très basses, principalement au petit matin. Les geysers sont donc à leur apogée entre 5h30 et 7h du matin, quand la hauteur des jets atteint facilement les 10 mètres.
