Machu Picchu. Diverses théories ont été émises sur la fonction de Machu Picchu, néanmoins la plus acceptée est que c'était un établissement construit pour superviser l'économie des régions conquises, sur le versant amazonien, et pour servir de refuge pour le souverain Inca et son entourage le plus proche, dans le cas d'attaque.
