Injection d'un produit qui provoque l'émission des gamètes, l'oursin est positionné ensuite au-dessus d'un bocal d'eau de mer pour recueillir le sperme qui sera utilisé pour réaliser une fécondation artificielle. Cette espèce marine est utilisée comme modèle d'étude.
