Le dôme de la Soufrière de Guadeloupe vu depuis la ville de Basse-Terre. D'une altitude de 1467 mètres, le dôme est l'édifice volcanique le plus récent du massif volcanique de la Grande Découverte. Le panache acide émis par les fumerolles situées au sommet provoque une destruction de la végétation (tache brune dans la partie supérieure droite du dôme).
