Délimitation de la zone de la feuille de "Nicotiana benthamiana" infiltrée par la bactérie "Agrobacterium tumefaciens". La zone infiltrée est délimitée afin de repérer la partie exacte de la feuille qui a été en contact avec la bactérie. En effet, certaines protéines produites suite à l’infiltration avec "A. tumefaciens", provoquent une mort cellulaire localisée. Cette mort des cellules foliaires a pour rôle de limiter la propagation du pathogène, qui meurt à son tour. La plante résiste donc à la souche infiltrée. En comparant l’apparition ou non des symptômes de mort cellulaire, on peut identifier les souches et/ou les protéines qui provoquent la résistance au pathogène.
