Slice of adult mouse olfactory bulb, in which so-called newborn neurons are observed. They have just been born, yet in an adult brain. These neurons are marked in green due to a lentiviral vector coding for GFP (Green Fluorescent Protein). The nuclei of all cells are marked in blue. The nuclei of active neurons are marked in red. The image was obtained by confocal microscopy on a slice of brain following an immunohistochemical reaction (a method of locating proteins in cells).

Our work is guided by the way scientists question the world around them and we translate their research into images to help people to understand the world better and to awaken their curiosity and wonderment.
