Cluster de croissance d'oxydes fonctionnels composé de 2 bâtis d'ablation laser pulsé

Daniele Preziosi (left) transfers a substrate in an ablation laser assembly in a functional oxide growth cluster. Diogo Vaz (right) transfers a sample for X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy (XPS) analysis. This cluster consists of 2 pulsed laser ablation (PLD - pulsed laser deposition) assemblies, a cathode sputtering assembly and an XPS system for performing in-situ analyses. In PLD, a pulsed laser ablates a target consisting of material that the research scientists wish to deposit in thin layers. The atoms contained in the plasma thus created are deposited on a substrate and form a thin layer.

CNRS Images,

Our work is guided by the way scientists question the world around them and we translate their research into images to help people to understand the world better and to awaken their curiosity and wonderment.
