Sonde de polarité, initialement en milieu polaire, après ajout d'une quantité importante de solvant apolaire "liophile" (gras) visant à mimer un gradient de polarité. Le milieu s'est homogénéisé. La coloration verte uniforme indique que la polarité bascule progressivement, le milieu devenant de plus en plus apolaire. La sonde permet, avec un seul colorant, d'imager les variations de polarité en milieu cellulaire, traduites en gradient de couleurs de luminescence dans l'ensemble du spectre visible.
