Four à arc utilisé pour la fusion d'échantillons à haut point de fusion
Four à arc utilisé pour la fusion d'échantillons à haut point de fusion, jusqu'à 3 500 °C, sous atmosphère d'argon. L'électrode du four est montée sur un soufflet permettant de manipuler l'échantillon sans ouvrir l'enceinte. Plusieurs fusions sont nécessaires pour homogénéiser l'alliage. L'échantillon est retourné à chaque fusion. L'objectif est de synthétiser des alliages et des composés intermétalliques pour le stockage réversible chimique ou électrochimique de l'hydrogène.
