Cristaux de glendonite, un pseudomorphe de l'ikaïte, minéral typique de certains environnements froids, alcalins et riches en phosphate dissous. Ils sont observés en microscopie électronique à balayage. Ces cristaux sont contenus dans la fraction authigène de carbonates du site hydrothermal fossile de la ride médio-atlantique "Ghost City" (36°N) situé à 2 100 m de profondeur.
