Lévitation d'un petit aimant au milieu d'un cylindre creux supraconducteur cuprate de type YBaCuO (Yttrium, Baryum, Cuivre, Oxygène) refroidi vers -196°C avec de l'azote liquide. Ce phénomène est la conséquence de l'effet Meissner qui consiste en l'expulsion des champs magnétiques par le cylindre creu supraconducteur. L'effet Meissner est l'une des propriétés définissant la supraconductivité.
