L'avion de transport Twin Otter à Terra Nova Bay, en Antarctique, permet de rallier le Dôme C où est construit l'instrument BRAIN. L'expérience BRAIN, à la station Concordia, a pour objectif la mesure des anisotropies du fonds diffus cosmologique (CMB), rayonnement fossile de l'Univers émis après le Big Bang. Elle devrait permettre d'affiner la connaissance des paramètres cosmologiques et d'en savoir plus sur l'inflation, une époque pendant laquelle l'Univers a brutalement "enflé".
