General view of the turntable at the beginning of the 1960s. Conceived in 1959 by young engineer Gabriel Chabert d'Heres, the world unique turntable has be used for the past 40 years. In the 1960s, the turntable allows to understand the great dissymetry of tides in France and in the UK., a highly precise and necessary study performed before the construction of any tidal power station.
