Bassin des carènes. Les maquettes de voilier, en polyester, bois ou résine, sont maintenues sous un chariot qui se déplace au dessus du bassin. Ce chariot tracte la coque dans l'eau, lui imposant une vitesse au choix, entre 0,1 et 8 m par secondes. Le chariot tractant les maquettes se déplace sur des rails installés au bord du bassin de 140 m de long.
