Bulbul, "Pycnonotus barbatus" (Pycnonotidé), au Gabon. Il vit exclusivement dans les milieux anthropisés. Il vit isolément, par paire ou groupe de 3 à 4 individus. Sa nourriture est très variée : graines, fruits, fruits cultivés, petits vertébrés et insectes. La reproduction, qui donne naissance à 1 ou 3 ¿ufs, a lieu toute l'année, l'incubation dure14 jours et est effectuée par la femelle.
