La souris-opossum, "Marmosa murina", qui pèse environ 30 g, est l'une des plus petites espèces de marsupiaux d'Amérique tropicale. Son régime alimentaire se compose de petites proies et de fruits. Cette femelle, qui porte ses jeunes accrochés aux mamelles, a été munie d'un collier radio. (Région de Cayenne, Guyane française, février 1979).
