Malagan
The tradition continues
A funeral Malagan ceremony had been organized in the memory of Joël Petsia (deceased in April 2002), the chief of the Kuk clan from the Tatau Islands (New Ireland) and the guardian of the ancestral tradition.
As the deceased used to be an important personality, the different ritual steps of the Malagan cycle started from May 2003 and reached their peak in September 2006.
