Fourmis "Petalomyrmex phylax" sur une plante "Leonardoxa africana", deux espèces endémiques de la forêt tropicale humide du littoral camerounais. Les fourmis vivent dans les tiges creuses de cette plante et se nourrissent du nectar produit par ses nectaires foliaires. En échange, les fourmis protègent la plante.
